Where to complain about –

Private or NT Government employees:

If you wish to complain about an injury sustained at work, contact NT WorkSafe. NT WorkSafe can offer general advice about the requirements for a claim and about the benefits payable to injured workers under the Work Health Act.

NT WorkSafe, a Division of the Northern Territory Department of Employment, Education and Training, administers the Work Health Act (NT), Dangerous Goods (Road and Rail Transport) Act and the Dangerous Goods Act on behalf of the Northern Territory Government. (see White Pages for regional offices)

An employer must submit a claim to their insurer within three working days of receiving a claim from a worker. The Insurer has to make a decision to accept, reject or defer a claim within seven working days of receiving the claim from the employer.

If the claim is rejected the worker can apply for mediation through the Work Health Authority and/or seek redress through the Work Health Court. Contact:

After receiving your claim form, Comcare will issue a determination as to whether they accept liability. If you are not satisfied with Comcare’s decision you can request a reconsideration of the decision or apply for it to be reviewed by the Commonwealth Administrative Appeals Tribunal or the Commonwealth Ombudsman.
